The Weight of Stress

The weight of stress upon my soul
Feels like a boulder, taking its toll
It grinds me down with its weight and force
And leaves me feeling weak, without recourse.

The endless deadlines and constant strain
Take over my life, like a tightening chain
I struggle to breathe, under its grip
And feel like I’m drowning in an endless trip.

The pressure to succeed and make a mark
Is a constant weight, a relentless shark
It preys on my mind, and consumes my days
Leaving little time for rest or for play.

The weight of stress is a heavy load
That weighs me down and takes its hold
But in the midst of the chaos and strife
I hold on to hope and hold on to life.

For though the weight may seem too much to bear
And though the road ahead may seem unfair
I know that I am stronger than I think
And that with each step, I am closer to the brink.

So let me rise above the weight of stress
And find the strength to face each test
For in the midst of the storm, I’ll find my way
And emerge stronger, come what may.
